Career Goals

Picture
Why are career goals important?

Building a habit of preparation is key to achieving a goal of being offered a new job or promotion for example.  Job/company analysis and research is important as part of your preparation for an interview so you can answer the questions with confidence and match what the company is looking for.  To showcase what you can offer to the company and how you can add value in the role is key to standing out from the crowd.  To have a list of questions ready to ask the potential employer is also important to demonstrate your interest in the job.

Calculating your "worth" is part of the preparation for a job interview or promotion when discussing your salary.  You can build a habit of documenting your performance from past or current jobs including what you have accomplished, who benefited and recognition of your work.  This documentaion can form part of your skills portfolio.
