ACC/ICF Certified Career Coach

I am a qualified and ICF Certified Career Coach. I specialise in career self-development to support you in aligning with your desired career path.

Whether you want to achieve a successful career change, career progression, you are a parent returning to work or looking for a job promotion, I can guide you through some simple and effective steps to enable you to have a competitive advantage and stand out from the crowd in your workplace or as the ideal candidate.

I can support you in identifying your personality traits, work preferences, work values and understanding your career beliefs.  This will enable you to move forwards in building your portable skills portfolio to showcase the transferable skills you have gained across different industries, identify your career goals and develop your career brand to stand out from the crowd. I have personally used all these concepts to achieve a fulfilling and successful career in teaching and coaching.

What is the difference between a job and a career?
A job is when you carry out tasks regularly which can enable you to fulfil other important opportunities or build skills and competencies. A job can be to plug a gap in your career, with a job you tend to live more in the moment and change to a number of different jobs over time. Sometimes other people have set expectations upon you to take a particular job which may or may not bring job satisfaction. I have experienced a lack of job satisfaction in the past due to work environments and management styles which did not match my personality, values, priorities or personality type. This is when I realised it was time for change.

A career takes you into the future where you can build skills and competencies which can take you onto higher paying specialist opportunities with a sense of purpose. You can happily spend longer periods of time in a career over a lifetime if you are in the right career for you. Once you have completed a self assessment of your personality type, work preferences and priorities, aligned yourself in a career path matching these with a strategic plan to build your skills and competencies, then this can lead you to career satisfaction. This brings a sense of fulfilment, purpose, accomplishment and balance to other areas of your life which I see with my clients. I can support you to achieve a career you love.

Self-Assessment
Do you have job or career satisfaction? Through self-assessment you can identify the ideal job or career for you with your work preferences, values and understanding your career beliefs and personality type.

Self Assessment is the starting point for aligning yourself on your desired career path.

  • Self-Assessment: Identify your work preferences, personality traits and work values to understand what is important to you in your desired career path.
  • Career Brand: How do employers see you in the workplace?  Are you maintaining a professional career brand?  Why is this important?
  • Competencies: How do you compare with other candidates against the benchmarks and standards in your chosen industry?
  • Career Goals: How do you stay on track in aligning yourself with your desired career path?
  • Portable Skills Portfolio: Are you showcasing all of your skills including those which are transferable across different industries?  Why is this important?
